Product Description
3/32" Tornado Purple Carbide Bit
The Purple Tornado carbide bits are coated with purple coating to prevent the carbide from damaging quickly, therefore making it longer lasting. The bit is great for general surface work such as cleaning, prepping and removing gel polish. The rounded tip helps prevent any damaging to the cuticles and sidewalls of the nail bed. Similarly to the 5-in-1 carbide, the tapered edge has three different grit sizes for it's multi-purposeful uses: a fine grit on top, medium grit on the middle, and coarser grit on bottom... and yes! Every size comes in a gradient grit size fitted to the nail tech's preference. However, unlike the 5-in-1 carbide, the purple tornado is only a one way rotating drill bit.

Shaves time off filling acrylics along with the top layer!
I chose this bit because it looks identical to one recommended by Eliabeth Morris of The Nail Hub. I chose a medium surface, because as a newbie to efiling my own nails I have a tidy collection of fine bits I'm gaining confidence with and several coarse bits sold with them that I don't dare use (yet). I wanted something a little more aggressive than a mandrel with sandpaper, and less prone to clogging. With this bit, my first time using it took about ten minutes per nail including cuticle-area prep work and grinding off all the lifts with other bits. I didn't time the resurfacing part specifically, but it was definitely less than 5 minutes per nail. I'm a newbie to this still, and fairly awkward at it, so shaving off 50 minutes per nail just by changing tools is pretty much revelatory.

Excellent drill bit
This thing is amazing. It removes gel and acrylic with ease! Made my removal process so much quicker. You just have to be careful with it because it will cut you. I’m a nail newbie, just started doing my own within the last few months. I started out using this at the lowest speed. Now I’m more comfortable with higher speed. But I still cut myself here and there. It’s held up well so far. Definitely a must have bit!
